Twin Oaks - A Modern Landscape Repurposing a 100-year-old Oak Tree
The home was built in the 1890's and called Twin Oaks in honor of two mighty oak trees. Three years ago one of those mighty Oaks were taken down, yet sections of the tree were saved by the Homeowner. A modern conversation grouping of rustic oak logs and tree trunk table set on exposed aggregate concrete pavers create the lounge area. A 12' long section of the old oak tree was sliced in half to create the bridge connecting the outdoor dining room and lounge area. Native ornamental grasses, ferns and Midwest prairie plants surround the outdoors rooms.
