The client asked for a navy-blue kitchen with white accents and shaker-style cabinets. However, knowing she loved the existing green wall color, Michael developed a ‘wild card’ concept, using custom green base cabinets, pulling her favorite wall color through the kitchen.

A bleached birch flat-framed upper cabinet adds the warmth of wood, while a modern nod to the traditional shaker cabinet. Nickel cabinet hardware was sourced to mimic the appliance handles, and a 3D molded tile backsplash with shades of blue, green, and cream tie all the colors together for a completely cohesive look. Adjustable under-cabinet lighting provides task lighting when needed, and soft ambient lighting in the evening, highlighting the backsplash in any situation.
