Transforming the existing attached casita into a serene and inviting primary bedroom addition

This 1959 Palm Springs Racquet Club Estates home, designed by William Krisel and built by Alexander Construction Company, was transformed to create a modern primary bedroom. The previous owners transformed the breezeway into a high-gloss white kitchen with an attached casita addition, which I converted into a spacious primary bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. The kitchen was updated with walnut cabinetry, mid-century modern knobs, and a clearstory window to capture mountain views. The interior design scheme carries through to the exterior with the signature green front door color repeated in the kitchen backsplash tile and primary bathroom steam shower tile. The addition features accordion glass doors that open to an outdoor dining area with a soaring roof structure that complements the pitched roof line.
